Jumping Rope: Alternative Cardio Exercise
Sunday, March 28th, 2010Jumping rope is one activity that we enjoyed when we were still kids. This is one small activity that we used to enjoy when we are in our innocent years in childhood. Playing with our friends is fun and jumping is enjoying while playing. But as we mature, we realized that this activity is not as simple as it was and requires a lot of energy and body movement. Therefore, it can be used to replace the basic exercise techniques. This kind of exercise is easy to do and does not require membership from a gym for you can try it at home and even in your backyard.
Just like any activity, you need to begin with warm-up routines. Do a light skip rope or walking enough to get your heart rate up and also your muscles to be warmed up. Relax and put your shoulders down with your ab and back muscles held in towards the spine. Look straight and put all your weight on your toes. Push your knees lightly up and bent slightly as your arms are by your side relaxed. Begin moving by turning the rope in arc over your head. Put pressure on your toes when the rope touches ground so it goes under your feet. Create a rhythm slowly while jumping over the rope while it touches the floor. This program can be implemented by jumping and walking. do it for about ten minutes and slowly add intervals and add time jumping the rope.
